Pink-beige limestone

The Carrasqueira quarry is located in Limites dos Serrões, in Pêro Pinheiro, Sintra. It is the only SOLANCIS quarry which is not located in the Maciço Calcário Estremenho. Here we extract limestone known as Lioz. It is normally a beige-pink coloured stone which shows many fossils.
